In looking at the role of technology, networksand the internet in economic development, few people have summed it up better than Dr. Ekwow Spio-Garbrah, Chief Executive Officer of the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation. Here is an extract of his speech given in July 2005 to the Royal Commonwealth Society:
